Lancaster University Students’ Union is promising a white Christmas for the local community at their traditional Christmas market this year.

On December 9 the Students’ Union will be putting on a traditional Christmas market for local residents, students and staff at the University campus outside Fylde College.

Open from 12-9pm and with free entry, the market attractions will include: Santa's Grotto, the chance to meet Santa’s reindeer, and a chair-o-planes ride. There will be a wide range of stalls featuring local artisan craft and gifts, offering the perfect opportunity to get some Christmas shopping done. The market will also feature a variety of food and drinks stalls including a traditional hog roast. From 5pm onwards there will be performances from student activity groups and local band Fables.

It should be a great event for students and local residents alike, and best of all, there will even be real snow -courtesy of a snow machine!

LUSU events officer Olly Trumble said: “We are all incredibly excited to welcome students and the local community to this year’s Christmas Market, it will be a fantastic opportunity for students and residents of Lancaster to come together to celebrate Christmas in the festive environment of Fylde College.

“A huge amount of hard work has gone into the preparation of what looks set to be a great day, perfect for getting into the Christmas spirit and we look forward to seeing you there.”
