Lancaster students give their courses top marks

Overall, 88% of final year students at Lancaster say they were satisfied with their course compared with a UK average of 83%.
The National Student Survey 2011 asked over a quarter of a million final year students from universities and colleges across the UK for their views on the quality of education they have received.
Lancaster University also scored better than the UK average in five of the six other categories: the course teaching scored 89% compared with a UK average of 84% ; assessment and feedback scored 70% compared with 68% nationally; the organisation and management of the course scored 82% against 75% nationally; learning resources scored 85% compared with 80% nationally; and the way that the course promoted personal development received 81% compared with an average of 80% for the UK.
The remaining category – academic support – received the average UK score of 77%.
Pro-Vice Chancellor for Colleges and the Student Experience Professor Amanda Chetwynd welcomed the results.
