Event Description
Please join us for a discussion series on the opportunities, challenges and practices of taking leadership for sustainability.
Each event will:
- Run from 10 am to 4 pm, including lunch, coffee/tea available from 9.30 am
- Offer presentations, small and large group discussions, and time for networking
- Link to the development of a virtual learning network, for those who wish to join this (it is not essential for attending the event)
The first of these events will take place on:
Tuesday 1st March 2011: Leadership and Organizational Change for Sustainability
Speakers for the event are people who received Business in the Community North West Awards for Leadership for Sustainability, sponsored by Lancaster University Management School, in 2009 and 2010.
Chris Matthews - Head of Sustainability, United Utilities Group PLC. (Organizational Big Tick Award June 2009)
Garry Charnock - Executive Director at RSK Group plc and Chief Executive, Carbon Leapfrog Charity. (Established Leader Award June 2010)
Janis Murphy - Health, Safety & Environment Manager, Aircelle Ltd. (Emerging Leader Award June 2010)
The day will also include small group and plenary discussions, and networking
All participants will be invited to join the virtual Leadership for Sustainability Learning Network for the North West (the LSLN).
The LSLN is a web based learning network for people who want to engage with other individuals, organizations, sectors and communities in the North West to promote networking and dialogue, and identify and share resources to support members in taking effective action for sustainability.
Its development is supported by Higher Education Innovation Funding (HEIF)
There is a fee of £30 per event
The events are supported by HEIF funding and there are a limited number of free places available on application.
