First ever undergraduate student recruitment event in London
Prospective students from the south east have attended the University's first ever undergraduate student recruitment event in London. In feedback, 90 per cent who attended said they are more likely to apply to Lancaster after attending the event, which was held at The Work Foundation.
The Lancaster Experience event invited Year 12 students from across London and the Home Counties to meet Lancaster University staff and students for sessions during the day, including personal statement and student finance workshops. Current Lancaster undergraduates also provided a presentation on student life which was particularly well received.
Year 12 pupil Sandra Frisch, from Claremont High School in Harrow, said of the talk: "It made me sure that Lancaster is the place I want to attend."
Another Year 12 pupil, Sahil Sharma, from Alperton Community School in Wembley, said: "I've enjoyed the day and I understand why Lancaster is a top ten university."
Rebecca Heron, Student Recruitment Manager at Lancaster University said: "The event was a real success and allowed us to meet students who might not otherwise have considered Lancaster. The feedback from students who attended the event was also very positive with many now wanting to apply to Lancaster. This type of event is definitely something we would want to run in the future."
