Princess Alexandra Medals
THE CHANCELLOR’S MEDALS, initiated by Lancaster’s founding Chancellor, HRH Princess Alexandra, are awarded for academic merit to the highest-performing undergraduates and postgraduates. The scheme began at the higher degree ceremonies on 8 December 2004, with presentations to five graduates of taught masters’ courses. Five medals were awarded to the following highest-performing undergraduates in July 2005: Andrew Doling, History; Peter James Carrington, Physics; Craig Avison-Fell, Computer Science with Multimedia Systems ;Joanna Ruth Calcutt, Biological Sciences and Emily Charlotte Phillips, History. Andrew Doling, pictured here with Chancellor Sir Chris Bonington, received his medal for undergraduate work in History.
