LUMS Dean honoured by Chinese society
Dean of the Management School, Professor Sue Cox, was honoured recently by distinguished academic Professor Cui Jun who is Vice-President and Secretary General of the China Management Science Society. Professor Cox was made a Fellow of the Society, and is the first non-Chinese academic to be awarded this considerable honour. The award reflects the longstanding research collaboration between academic staff in the Management School and researchers in the Management Science Society, going back to 1984, and the development of mutually beneficial relationships.
The award was made at the official dinner of the inaugural Conference of the Lancaster Centre for Management in China which was held in early April with the theme Business and Economy in China - now and future. The dinner also provided an opportunity for the School to honour the Vice President of the Society, Professor Chen Zhicheng (who is a distinguished researcher, former Dean of the Management School of the University of Science and Technology, Beijing, and a long-standing friend of Lancaster University) with a Professorial Fellowship of the Lancaster Centre for Management in China.
