Obituary - Ralph Harris

It is with deep regret that the University announces that Ralph Harris (Cleaning Services & Grounds Maintenance) died on New Year's Day.

The University joins with Ralph's friends and colleagues in sending condolences to his partner, Sylvia Standrell, and their respective families. Sylvia also worked at the University between 1984 and 1996.

The funeral was held at 2pm on Wednesday 10 January 2001 at Lancaster Crematorium. The University Flag was flown at half mast on the day of the funeral. The family have requested that no flowers be sent but donations may be forwarded to Preston, Ireland and Bowker, 20b Queen Street, Lancaster, LA1 1RX.

The University has received notification that the family have decided to pass the donations on to Cancer Care and/or the Hospice. Therefore cheques should be made payable to Preston, Ireland and Bowker.
