New Pro-Chancellor appointed as High Sheriff of Lancashire
Bryan Gray has been appointed as High Sheriff of Lancashire by Her Majesty the Queen .
Mr Gray will be formally installed as High Sheriff on April 10th at County Hall in Preston. Bryan will then be asked to declare that he will "serve the Queen's Writs and execute the good laws and statutes of the realm." The High Sheriff's main duty is to protect and assist in upholding the dignity and well being of Her Majesty's Judges.
Mr Gray's authority as High Sheriff begins on the day when he is sworn in at the command of the Queen's Commission, when he will make a Declaration to serve the Queen's Majesty, preserve the Queen's rights, levy the Queen's debts, return and serve all the Queen's Writs and execute the Good Laws and Statutes of the Realm.
Commenting on his appointment, Bryan Gray said: "I am honoured to have been chosen by Her Majesty to become High Sheriff. My family and I have made Lancashire our home, and I welcome the opportunity to serve the people of this great county."
In addition to this new appointment Bryan is also Deputy Chairman of Baxi Group Limited and Chair of Baxi Technologies and is currently Chairman of the Northwest Development Agency.
