MBE Awarded to Dr Michael Foley, Biological Sciences Department

It has been announced in the New Year's Honours List that Dr Michael Foley, Honorary Research Associate in the Department of Biological Sciences, has been awarded the MBE in recognition of his services to sport. For 30 years Mike has been manager and coach of the Salesbury Cricket Club junior team. His colleagues in the Biological Sciences Department know him as a very active and enthusiastic botanist, an expert plant taxonomist who is continuing to make significant contributions to his field. However, until now, few will have been aware that the second great interest in his life is cricket.
