University sponsors Lancaster Street Market Festival
Lancaster University is contributing £2,500 in sponsorship to help the Lancaster Street market Festival take place over the Spring Bank holiday weekend ( 24th, 25th and 26th May)
It is two years since the City held the first Festival of this kind, and local people and visitors to the area have eagerly awaited its return.
The Festival will take place over three days in the City's main thoroughfares with market stalls featuring continental foods and wines as well as the best that Lancashire has to offer from the Farmers' and Charter markets.
Bay Radio presenters will be interviewing stall holders and shoppers throughout and there will be free parking in Lancaster City Council car parks on Bank Holiday Monday.
Lancaster University's Vice Chancellor Professor Paul Wellings said "The French 'Le Havre' Market, proved a great success two years ago and the University is pleased to contribute to an event which local people will enjoy.
"The City and University have a strong and long term relationship and Lancaster University is pleased to support an event which will bring people together."
